Voicemail light wont turn off running on Octel Voice messaging

I have a users' phone where the voicemail light will not go off even though he has no voicemail. I remember having this problem a long time ago but I cant remember how to fix it. Can anyone give me a hand.
Running a Definity G3R with an Octel Voice messaging system.

"clear amw all 1234", where 1234 is the ext #.
