I have 3300 mx controller version 7.0 with embedded voicemail. When I am on the phone and some one calls me, my voicemail greeting does not play the caller hears the person you are calling is on the phone please leave a message after the tone.

I can get the voicemail greeting to play instead of this generic greeting when some calls while I am on the phone?

I read in this forum about customizing voicemail messages to address this issue. Can you guide me step by step as to how I would setup the customized voicemail greeting.

thanks

Specifically what version are you running? There was an issue in the past, I think with one of the 7.0 releases, where callers to embedded VM did not hear the busy greeting.

The instructions are detailed in the help files built in to the 3300

Look under Mailbox Greetings

The 3300 version is 7.0.21.7.

I want callers to hear my voicemail greeting instead of the generic greeting while I am on the phone

Did you read the docs?

The Doc mentions something to do with making changes to system greeting options via the Administrator's Mailbox but does actual specify what exactly.

Can you point to the actual document?

Not sure if this will help but, We have the 6510 VM, and if that happens, the user needs to record a "Personal Greeting". In the 6510, there a few greetings they need to record and they soetimes get confused as to which is done.

shawnb345 we are using embedded voicemail on the 3300. Thanks for your help

kwbmitel can you point me to the actual documentation that mentions what I need to do to hear the voicemail greeting if a user is busy on the phone.

The help files I am looking at are not very clear as to what I need to do to implement voicemail greeting instead of the generic message "the person you are caaling is on the phone"

I've never tried to disable the canned "the person is busy" message. I have seen posts indicating it is possible by manipulating the Customer greetings that are explained in the help files.

Time for a little experimentation on your part I would guess.

Sorry I can't help with more but encouragement.

I have also been asked if i can change this. I found some info on it.

Log in to 3300
click on help
click search ---type in "voicemail greetings"
click on mailbox greetings

this should allow you to change default setting by going into admin mailbox
