I'm fairly new to Mitel equipment and I am currently getting acquainted with setting up a 3300 MXe.

What I am trying to do is find a way to make the voicemail hang up on me. The scenario is an SLT user tries to transfer a call to an extension and finds themselves connected to the VM. They want to try someone else so how to drop the VM? Recall will simply shuttle them between the caller and the VM and hanging up will put the caller through!

I can achieve this but it is a 6 key string followed by hanging up and recieving a ring back from the held caller. Is there a simpler way?

the only way I know of is as described in the analogue manual:-

To retrieve the call, press FLASH or flash the switchhook, and then
dial the Call Hold - Retrieve Feature Access code ( *23 ).

Obviously you could change this feature access code to something simpler if needed
