I have a 500 at 4.2 w/ vmpro. the voicemail pc is vista ultimate this also connecting to a novell server. I read in another thread that you need to setup another account but because of vista it has to be setup on the administrator account,not an account with admin privliges. Any help would be great.

when you run the "check smtp" in control panel under the IP Office Voicemail Pro, does it run all the way through.

have you run the voicemail pro debug view, what error is it giving you?

yes it does go all the way through when you press check.

Error 7- The from address was not formatted correctly or was rejected by the SMTP mail server. Some SMTP servers will only accept mail from particular addresses or domains. SMTP mail servers may also reject a from address if the server can not successfully do a reverse lookup on the from address.

what do you have as your SMTP server? is it in name or ip address form? do you have the full user name in the account tab?

I have an internal IP for the mail server and I have the whole email address as in the account field.

change your smtp server to your external smtp server provided by your isp and see what happens.

example: NuVox is our ISP, so in my smtp server field i have "smtp.nuvox.net
