Anybody know if you need to install a 3rd-party TTS engine (e.g., MS Speech) to use the IPO Voicemail Email Reading feature? Can't seem to get it to work, even though I've checked and re-checked the configs.

I know that from reading past posts in this forum that docs. are practically non-existent for this feature. Still, if anyone has knowledge of any pertinent whitepapers, job aids, etc., it'd be great to get hold of them.

Cheers.

Yes you definately need a text to speech licence to take email text and read it back as speech. Either of them will do (3rd party or Avaya/Scansoft).

BTW the scansoft licence is superior for this application, as it won't read out all the header information which can be quite tedious for the poor user. The 3rd party (MS) speech engine reads EVERYTHING.
