I have an extension that when called the first caller rings in and if no answer goes to voice mail. Just fine

If the user is on their phone, the call goes directly to voice mail. It does not give the user a chance to pick up the second call.

It is like DND on busy.

I cannot find the feature code or programming to resolve this.

thank you

There is an option that you can "turn on" at his/her extension called "Call Screening" - which would allow him/her to monitor (listen to a message being left) or pick-up the call. Check out the Feature Reference Manual for your particular processor model and release. It si programmed on a line button through centralized extension programming.

Check cover delay and also see how call is being transferred. Whoever is transferring call may be useing direct vm button.

With "Call Screening" turned on. (You basically have to program a Call Screening button for them - through centralized extension programming). If they are on a call and have the "Call Screening" button active - when another call comes in that goes to voicemail - they will hear the voicemail being left through their speaker phone only. They have "listen only" priveleges at that point. They can put their active call on hold and pick-up the voice mail call (which will be on another "line" button - if they choose to - or just let it continue to go to voice mail if it is not an important call.

They have 3 sa buttons and no call screening button. They are not hearing anything through their speaker when a second call comes in, but they do not have a call sreening button. Is it possible that they did at one time and never turned it off before deleting it?

You have to program a "Call Screening" button through centralized programming - so just create one on a "blank" button. Use centralized programming, put in their extension number, start, touch a blank button, scroll thru the list to "CallScreening", press enter, then exit.

Yeah well, what kind of SA buttons do they have?

If you only have 1 SA Ring or Voice, and 2 SA ORIGINATE, then you will have the trouble you describe.

Again, PRINT THE BAD GUY and we shall see........

Call screening is cool, but you gotta' have a RECEIVABLE SA Button to make it work.......

Change the SA OO to sa ring (Central Programming > Touch the button > Dial *16)

Heck, I'd even add a f4ew more *16's (Rings) and even make them *19's (Voice)

I never have thought much of SA OO's.
