I am programming a new IP Office with Nortel phones. The receptionist (M7324) needs to have a personal mailbox as well as hunt group mailbox for general messages. Is it possible to program 2 buttons, so that each will light up for its individual messages and she can log into each to retrieve. I have tried various combinations of voicemail collect keys without any luck for the hunt group mailbox.

you can make a short code for the hunt group mailbox and then program her a button which would dial that short code. you can also add her the hunt group's source code in her user / source codes tab (HMain, VMain), etc... maybe program a visual voice button as well, but i haven't tried that on a nortel digital set.

visual voice won't work on Nortel sets
The only thing I ever have gotten to work is the message light (hopefully you have not M series clunkers without a msg light) and that way you have the voicemail collect key telling you that you have personal messages and retrieve messages for the huntgroup with a separate key or shortcode if the msg light stays on after retrieving them out of your personal mailbox.

You can program a button to access a particular HG mailbox, but you can't make it lite up. The MWI for the set will lit if you add the Hhuntgroupname to the user source number.

You get no visual voice on a nortel set, you start pounding the various HG VM buttons once the MWI lits up until you find the message. Major suckage, and a good reason not to use Nortel sets.

still better than the 5400 and 5600 phones :)

I always liked the old M-series Nortel phones because their hands free was so much better than the Lucent or Avaya handsets (except 6400 series)

I tried several shortcodes to retrieve messages from the "General" hunt group mailbox without any luck. Can you give me hint?

I tried short code *77, "?General", Voicemail Collect but I just get the system prompt saying "Welcome to Avaya IP Office". Any help would be appreciated.

Example: Retrieve Messages from Specific Mailbox

This short code allows a user to retrieve messages from the mailbox of the hunt group 'Sales'. This usage is not supported on Voicemail Pro running in Intuity emulation mode unless a custom call flow has been created for the hunt group, refer to the Voicemail Pro help.

· Short Code: *99

· Telephone Number: "?Sales"

· Feature: VoicemailCollect

Let me guess you run Intuity mode :)

you will need to hit # after that then password and # one more time and then you are in the mailbox

could never find a way around the #PW#

I figured out the shortcode. Yes, I am running intiuty mode. I changed my shortcode to *77, Voicemail Node, General. I then created a short code in VM Pro called General and pointed that to a "Get Mail" mailbox action for the general mailbox. A long way to go but it works. Thanks for the help.

You can also just use short code, *77, Voicemail Collect, "?". Then the IPO will prompt for extension (the hunt group extension) and password to access the message.

the Sc would be *77 / Voicemail Collect / "?Anonymous" as the system is running VM Pro.

i agree that the nortel phones are not great on ip office. however, they still have some of the best damn audio quality i have ever heard in the business.
