I have a client that must enter their extension and password from their own phone.
Could this be because I have the short code "Nxxx" in the phone switch?

It's very odd. I've never noticed it before.

They should be able to hit the messaged button and enter their password and be in....

Thanks!

When the voicemail is in Intuity mode and you use the builtin message button that is how it works. I am not sure of any way around it other than putting another button on the phone. you could put a voicemail collect button on the phone and that will bring you right in.

If you are using Intuity mode, you can put a "Get Mail" in the default Collect Start Point. Under the "Specific" tab have "Callers Mailbox" as the setting.
Cheers

in intuity mode, you can save one step, have the user hit # if they are calling *17 from their own telephone, prompting the user to just enter their password

Yes,
it is in the Intuity mode. Most of these phones are 5602's so I'm not sure about adding a button since there are only two.

Thanks!

I think what JML2665 said is good. Train the users to press vm button then #password and # then they are in quick.

Here is a good one. How can a user be logged in to one extention and check a dumy extention's v-mail via a hot button?
