Good Morning,

I recently was asked to work on an Avaya Partner system. The client has a phone in a back office that is no longer used that keeps receiving voicemail but noone has the voicemail password. I couldn't find enough material on how to admin the system. Is there a master feature like on a Nortel MICS that will not require a password incase it has been changed? Otherwise could I get the pinout for the serial cable?

Thanks in advance!

You will log into the System Administrator's mailbox, and from there you will find menus for mailboxes, and for initializing the password.

But first, you'll need to know which voicemail system you're dealing with, then you can download the docs from

Is the system administrator mailbox defined by port? What if that password has been changed?

Thanks!

The System Administrator Mailbox is defined by the voice mail system that is connected to the phone system. Ask your customer for the password, or ask them how they change the Auto Attendant greeting. If they know that much, they will be able to let you into the system.

If not, press Intercom and dial 777. Listen to exactly what the recording says when it answers. That will tell you what system it is. The docs will give you the default password, if there is a default for that system. If that doesn't work, or your customer doesn't have it, you need to contact an Avaya Business Partner, who can re$et the pa$$word for you.

Clever use of dollar signs TTT. I think you need to add a couple more.I would be happy to change the admin password for you at our hourly rate if you need it changed.
