I have just installed an 0x32 MICS 6.0 with T7316 telephones.
The customer has two deal breaking issuses if I can not get these two minor issues addressed.

He wants it so his phone is always in a voice call mode, he never ever wants his phone to ring. Yea, I know all the calling party had to do is hit the programmed voice call button then his button, but they do not do that for some reason and it pisses him off, so he wants to blame the tele system for not being able to do it, instead of yelling at his employees to use the button.

THe 2nd voice call problem he has is the privcay/open mic tone that is generated every 15 seconds. Anyway to turn this off other than picking up the handset or pressing mute, which is dumb since you want to be talking obviously.

Also, while I am thinking about it the T7316 appear to generate a small amount of noise/hiss that you can hear on the handset. Any ideas? is this how they are, or did i get 20 bad telephones?

Thanks in advance,

Steve

The only thing that came to my mind on the voice call issue is try putting his phone on do not disturb, and while it is on DND see if you can voice call it. I tried it on my system which is a CICS 4.1. It didn't work, but maybe it will with a software like 6.1. Worth a shot right. I don't think you can get rid of the mic open tone. It is there so the person knows the mic is open so people don't ease drop on private issues that may be behind closed doors.

Hope that helps.
If you do find a soloution repost and let me know. thanks

Thanks for the input the problem is going to be fixed on Friday with the installation of an Avaya ACS.

The cabling is fine it's all Cat5 other wise I would suspect that too. Reading through other post that I searched I guess the T series have this white noise type sound compaired to the M series. The customer is in the high end audio speaker business and he probably has a very good ear for distortion etc.

I have checked everywhere and the open mic tone can not be turned off so even I switched him out to M series telephones the tone would have been the deal killer anyway.

Thanks again.
