have an acs, don't recall which version, where the calling groups have stopped working. when i dial intercom *71,2,3,or 4 i get the beep over the phones, but then it goes dead. it has worked up until a couple days ago and no programming changes have been made.

i verifed exts. are in the calling groups. i even restored programming that was backed up before it started acting up. made no difference.

anyone else run across this or have any suggestions?

thanks, tim

I have had this happen to me on a partner II. Believe it or not one of the sets in the calling group was causing the problem. How I found the the bad set, I was at the operator position with auto intercom buttons and everytime I paged the calling group that auto button would flash. I think I removed it from the calling group and that fixed the problem. The set acted ok otherwise. I found the problem by dumb luck.

they do have one set, ext 21, that stays 'lit' on the operator phones also. i believe that port had a problem a while back, so i just unplugged it from the system. i also removed that station from all the calling groups today, but it made no difference. they say the light for that station has been on all the time for as long as they can remember. could be that card causing the problem i guess.......

thanks, tim

Some extension port is shorted out and auto answering the calling group pages. The group pages are also "meet-me" pages, that is the first person to lift their handset causes the page to stop and connect them directly to the station initating the page. You might try calling every extension number in sequence and see if you can find one that trips the ring immediatly.

you guys are basically both right. the clinic called me back later and said they were having trouble with one phone. dr. said it kept cutting off while he was talking to people. they unplugged that phone and the calling groups started working. am going to replace that phone and maybe card also........it already has one bad port on it.

thanks, tim
