you have to check 2 places -
1 - ld 117
=> prt interzone and prt intrazone
if zone strategy if BQ - does not compress call
if zone strategy if Bb - does compress call
2 - Now check sigserver through element manager. Select IP Network/nodes servers media card/ select edit
under VGW and IP phone codec see if G729a is checked if not, even if zone is bb, will not compress.
or
trace and active IP call - it will tell you the codec in use - g711 not compressed or g729 compressed
