Hello all!
After weeks of trolling around on the web for some good resources, I stumbled across this forum which seems to be by far the most informative!! Glad to now be a part of it!!
->->->Forgive me for the following long-winded-rambling-post, but a little back-ground<-<-<-
So for years I have been after my boss (owner of the company) to upgrade from our old analog Partner ACS system to something..anything NEWER and more reliable. After tireless efforts I have given up and decided, if I can't get new toys to play with, I will make the best of what I've got!!
We are presently on R6.0.4 C01. The system is pretty much in its original state of install / programming. Meaning plug everything in, program everyones names in to the system for display, set-up some basic paging / pooling / groups, and forget about it.
Recently I picked up the manual to this system, and just started reading. As well as being the "IT Manager" I am also the parts manager here, and often times have the need to take and make calls away from my desk. I had begged for YEARS for a cordless, but that was always shot down because, well $$$$$. Upon opening the bible for this system, I found out that "standard" phones are compatible along with using dialing codes ie: Active and Idle Line pickup... so on and so forth.. So I bought a cheap $20 cordless with speakerphone / intercom (to other cordless sets) capability. The only thing I am lacking at this point is Voice Signaled Intercom calls... I know all of the official documentation states that voice signaled calls can be received on standard equipment, but I have never been one to leave well enough alone and was hoping someone could shed some light on how the system handles voice signaled calls and/or detects the loudspeaker on a system phone. Long shot, but basically what are the chances of modding/hacking/diy-ing some method of receiving the Voice Signaled calls over the loudspeaker on the cordless??
Thanks in advance everyone, seems like a great community.... and again sorry for the first post novel!!
