Voice services card for Symposium Express in Option 81C 1

We have Symposium Express on our 81C environment.
We have a lot of problems with our Voice Service card logging out on it's own.It's definitely intermittent.
We have replaced the card but still have problems.
Can anyone please explain to me the function of the Voice services card?

The voice services card provides the in-queue announcements for the Symposium. It also provides for menu selection i.e. press 1 for xxx press 2 for yyy. That's about it really.
