We recently upgraded our IPO 500 from 4.0 to 4.1(1201) and are having voice quality issues. We have a integrated (converged) T1 connection and all IP phones. About 40 phones total.

After installing 4.1 I’m getting an increased number of voice quality complaints. We haven’t made any other changes to the system, and I didn’t advertise the upgrade. Several employees have reported that external callers and callees have said that we sound like we’re in a tunnel. I’ve noticed it too, it’s different than an echo—more of a muffled or rumble sound. One user reported that the voice quality declined during a long call. It was ok at the beginning and after an hour the other parties complained that she was hard to understand, and by the end of the call (roughly 90 minutes) the speech was nearly unrecognizable. Several employees have switch to using their cell phones for important calls.

It looks like this problem is related to 4.1 as there have been no other changes to the system.

Anyone seeing voice quality issues with 4.1?
