1) Is there a STATE command or some other method I can use to see how many voicemail ports are in use at any given time? We have had issues transferring people to voicemail and the voicemail system not picking up and i wanted to check this.

2) I assume I can add an additional 10 voicemail ports for a maximum of 30 for our system?

thanks

1) On my MCD5.0, I ran a 'STATE EXTENSION 7001' (7001-7016 are my VM ports). The location of said port was 1 4 27 1 1. I then ran a 'STATE 1 4 27' command and received a list of all 16 VM ports - it presents 3 lines per port, as follows:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Location | Device | State | Owner | ID |Status
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
1 4 27 1 1| Superset 4150 |Idle | | |
1 4 27 1 2| Unassigned |Not applicable | | |
1 4 27 1 2| Alternate Codec |Idle | | |
1 4 27 2 1| Superset 4150 |Idle | | |
1 4 27 2 2| Unassigned |Not applicable | | |
1 4 27 2 2| Alternate Codec |Idle | | |

2) Yes, the Engineers Handbook states:
"The default system configuration is 20VM session. Units can
expand to 30VM sessions without adding DSP resources."

Think if you buy advanced voicemail it bumps it up to 30 ports. No other way to buy just ports.

I'd tell you a UDP joke but I'm afraid you won't get it. TCP jokes are the best because you always get them.

thanks for the reply. looks like i can change 20 to 30 then reboot system. In the help it says:

Note: To support more than 20 ports, the system requires the equivalent of two Quad DSP Modules (21161). Refer to the Engineering Guidelines for details. Refer to the FRU Part Numbers section in the Technician's Handbook for the Quad DSP Module part number.

Is there a way i can check on my DSP Modules?

thanks

The 4.2 Engineering Guide says, for the MXe that it can support, with no additional MMC modules or other upgrades purchased, 30 voicemail ports. (Page 44: DSP Resources)

if you have the dsp card or an E1 card then you can have 30 vm channels

sorry thats on MX
on cx max ports is 16 and you still need a DSP or E1 card ( or t1)

He said MXe so based on UCXau's comment he would be ok.

I'd tell you a UDP joke but I'm afraid you won't get it. TCP jokes are the best because you always get them.
