Voice portion of modem not working

I have the HaM (Data/Fax/Voice) modem Copyright (c) 2000 Intel Corporation. I am in the Win ME enviroment. and using a program called Sidekick which has a phone dialer. I can not get the voice function to work in this program and
I even trie the Bit ware software that came with that modem and I am using a haedset type device from Radio Shack any ideas on how to adjust or get the voice funtioning
