I have an application where it might be advantageous to run voice over our VPN for an international location-I've heard lots of ugly-so bring it on-the good, the bad, the ugly-thanks!
I run VoIP over a IPSEC VPN right now. It works fine. The problem is that because my RTP packets are encapsulated, I have no way of prioritizing them.
Also, VoIP packets are udp packets, but when they are encapsulated, they are TCP. TCP requires alot more overhead, acknowledgements, etc, and therefore you lose the udp speed of the packet. But it still sounds good.
Other than that, I really havent run into any problems.
