Hi. I submit my question as after lots of research I couldn't get the voice working on MSN when I use my router. The router is a Bewan 600W, I use MSN Messenger 6.1 and the OS is Windows XP Pro.
I read some people have voice only one way, but in my case even the connection doesn't work (it keeps displaying "Connection to X..." and fails after a while)
The video works fine though, and the voice works when I don't use the router.

Here is what I did so far:

On the router
1- port forwarding of port 6901 for TCP and UDP
2- Activation of UPnP

I haven't upgraded the firmware yet, but I have a recent version of it. I read a long reset has to be done, but I don't have a reset button (apart from the one to get back the factory settings). So I switched the router off for a while... Is it the same as long reset ?

On the computer
1- activation of "SSDP Discovery Service" and of "Universal Plug and Play Device Host" services
2- uninstall of the QoS (I read it could be a source of problem)
3- switch off firewall application and Windows integrated firewall

If you have any idea, thanks for your help!

Hi,
Do you have any connection while sharing any files and other file transfer applications?
If not: check your network configuration. ping both computers and the router. Be aware of DNS configuration, and subnet masks are the same and both PCs are in the same workgroup. Be aware of the cable connections: In peer to peer you use straight cables but PC to router you are going to use cross cables.

Hope it works..
