Hello all,

I wonder if you can help. Users are complaining that voicemails on our BCM aren't appearing - that is, their mailboxes appear empty, but some hours later, or even the next day, previous days' messages then appear in the mailbox.

Is there a fix for such a problem? Has anyone experienced it before?

Any help would be appreciated.

TIA

Hi redzw

Just a few questions

What version of BCM?
How many mailboxes on system?
How many mspecs installed?
Can you check the reports on the voicemail for port usage.
How many ports available on MSC config?
What is current config on system (IP phones, trunks wan etc)

Thanks Marshall

Marshall,

Thanks for your response.

My problem is that I'm a bit of a novice with the BCM - "thrown in at the deep end" is a good description for me!

Anyway, responses to your questions:

What version of BCM?
3.0. The Voicemail version is 30.50.20.22

How many mailboxes on system?
59 from what I can count (that's how many are set up, almost all are initialised)

How many mspecs installed?
Where do I find this info?

Can you check the reports on the voicemail for port usage.
... again - are you able to point me to where I find this?

How many ports available on MSC config?
... again - are you able to point me to where I find this?

What is current config on system (IP phones, trunks wan etc)
I believe IP phones, I'm not aware of anything else running. All I know is that we have System DNs available on the BCM which allows us to configure the relative extensions.

I'm sorry that I can't provide any more information, as I said - deep end, thrown in (no swimming aids either)!

Thanks for your help (and patience!)

Hi redzw

There is a patch for the voicemail on 3.0 to take it to version 30.50.50.22

The mspec info is found on the bcm system to access this goto main page on BCM.

Click configure and then login

The mspec info and msc config will be found under the resource tab click on word media services card. The screen on the right will have a picture of the msc card and there will be 3 tabs accross the top click on mspec information. To see the msc config click on word msc configuration and then click on the current tab on right hand side of screen. The field you will need to look at is the voicemail-Acd Ports

Screen shots would be handy.

The voicemail port usage is found under reports on the callpilot.

To Access call pilot click on call pilot tab login. Then click reports on lefthandside portusage/callhandling.

Hi Marshall,

Many thanks for the walkthrough (v v useful).

I've dug the following up:

MS-PEC:
Location: Type: Hardware ID DSP1 DSP2
Slot 1 Empty
Slot 2 Empty
Slot 3 MS-PEC3 4 Enabled Enabled
Slot 4 MS-PEC3 4 Enabled Enabled

(I can't grab screenshots of Java apps!)

MSC Config:

Voicemail-ACD Ports:
Min - 2 Max - 6 License - n/a Hardware - 16

Finally I have a report generated of the port usage / call handling, I have this in Excel format and could send to you if that would be useful. It reports 0% on percentage of time busy though.

My email address will only be posted here until you drop me a note with yours (then it will be removed for spam purposes:

(obviously replacing the caps appropriately!)

Many, many thanks for your assistance on this.

Hi Redz
