hi I have one question
I have IP office 500 , I activate voice mail its working fine
question is if I lift the handset , or speaker I want to hear u have .... voice mail press 1 to listen , if no voice mail directly go to dialer tone.
Is it possible to Avaya IP500

There is no way that I am aware of to make the phone give you the option to listen to the voicemail automatically before you get the dial tone. Even with the button or a hot line you will still have to enter your credentials before you can listen. There may be a third-party piece of hardware out there that might be able to accommodate this objective, but I've never heard of one... if you find one though please post it, as I wouldn't mind having that myself.

what edition? and what type of voicemail do they have? I will talk to my local expert and see what he says.

Depends, if its Voicemail Pro then maybe. But why unless you're using analog phones? most others can be made to give some form of message waiting indication without you even having to lift the handset or go to speaker.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

That's an original request, but have you thought about the side effects?

Rushing into the office in the morning: If you have a message waiting> Someone calling you> Picking up the handset... "You have x voice messages, do you want to listen to them?"> Damn it! > Pressing alerting button.. (Meanwhile ..tick-tick timeout> Grabbing new line out....)

Better use voicemail to email, or at least the indicator lamp (unless the user is blind)

Kind regards

Gunnar

... there also the very ancient but still existing voicemail ringback option which, if enabled, will ring the phone after it is used if there are new messages waiting. Originally designed for phones without any MWI.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

Yes, that too, but he want's it up front:)

So, Vmail-> Email (and the bonus: IT guy is to blame if "The most important Vmail in the world" got deleted.)

Kind regards

Gunnar
