Several of our managers are heading south for a conference, and would like to change their Voice Mail greetings to include something like "I'll be out of the office until X...if you need to speak to someone, touch *123 and you can speak to my assistant, Deb". Can PartnerMail do this, and how?

Thanks!

-Chris

In their greetings tell the caller to dial *T (transfer) or *8 the same thing then the 2 digit extention number of the assistant

this is Assuming you have an avaya made Voice mail. Aftermarket systems have different procedures for example on a voicegate voicemail you dial 7 and it returns you to the main menu where the caller would dial the assistants extention number

On Partner Mail VS R5, Partner Messaging R1, and Partner Mail R3, you can set a "Personal Operator" via option 4 after logging into a mailbox. If no personal operator has been set, dialing Zero will transfer to the "call answer service operator" which is Ext. 10 for VS Mail, and can be specified for the other systems. By setting a different personal operator, you can have your user's calls zero out to a different destination. So, "if you need to speak with someone right away, press zero and you will be transferred to my assistant Deb..."
