hi All

Is there a flag or some sort of a setting
When there is a Voice mail the systems ring back and remind that ext there is a voice mail.

System model and versions should be the first line of every post

the message notification is probably set t call instead of set MW

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....

sorry ma fault

its a 5000cs Ver 5.1.0.46
sorry where can i check that setting please

See if you had mentioned that I wouldn't have responded ... sorry cant help with the 5000's

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....

Within the mailbox, you have to enable Remote Messaging and then set up a cascade in Primary Message Notification.

Voice Processor > Devices > Mailboxes > (Mailbox #) > Remote Messaging - Yes

Voice Processor > Devices > Mailboxes > (Mailbox #) > Primary Message Notification > Set up the schedule

Voice Processor > Devices > Mailboxes > (Mailbox #) > Primary Message Notification > Cascade Levels > Right click > Add Cascade Level(s) > Enter Destination

I have dreamed a dream, but now that dream has gone from me.

hi thanks for the reply

Is this to stop this unheard VM message waiting reminder.
probably i`m not explaining this very well.
this is the first time i came across this sort of an issue.
we have this system on a site and when there's no answer, calls are forwarded to an associated VM Box.
if someone leave a VM on a weekend, when they come in Monday morning there`s about 300 voice mails.
there`s only 1 real VM and all the other 299 VM are just remind calls to say that there is an unheard VM.

hope this is a bit clearer

For that, most likely what's happening is it's delivering hangup messages. Although 300 missed calls in a period of 2 days is a bit hard to believe, but I'll assume you're exaggerating.

Voice Processor > Devices > Mailboxes > (Mailbox #) > Deliver Hangup Messages (When ANI is available) - No

Do this for each mailbox that's getting these excess "phantom" messages.

I have dreamed a dream, but now that dream has gone from me.

no i`m not exaggerating. they are not missed calls they are like reminder calls to remind there is an unheard message waiting.

Deliver Hangup Messages (When ANI is available) is set to NO.

Maybe they're actual reminder messages...never seen them used before so I couldn't say how they work, but the feature code to disable reminder messages should be by default 306. Other than that, I'm out of ideas.

I have dreamed a dream, but now that dream has gone from me.

me either. first for me. let me try that. cheers
