Voice Mail Recovery

I have someone that has a PACS R7 with Messaging. They were having various wierd problems after a power outage with the Messaging. I tried powering the system down but could not correct the problem. I did a backup and restore and the problems appear to be corrected. The problem is that I did not think it would erase all the existing messages in the mailboxes including some older ones that were being saved for various reasons. Are they lost forever or is there a way to retrieve these messages.

A backup does not save any messages. Just the settings and greetings. The old messages are lost. You might want to setup unified messaging so that messages can be saved as email attachments in the future.
