Is there any way to access and play recorded voice mail messages on the BCM? I've looked around the directory structure of our BCM 400 (3.7) some and found a bunch of MXXX.BOX folders under /D/ST. These seem to be the mailboxes, and each one has a single file named MBxProf.50, which has a bunch of non-readable data with what looks like CLID information. I know this is a long shot, but is there any way to play these files or extract the messages in some other way? I ask because I want to record some calls, and the Nortel Call Center will only record to a voice mail box. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Which is it? Record calls in progress or acess messages in the VM?
You can record a call in progress by dialing F989 (assuming its enabled in CP). This will record the call into a user's mailbox. It can then be exported into a .wav file using Unified Messaging.
If you want to record ALL calls, then you need a third-party system like AuxBox or Panda Voice Recorder.

All I want to do is use F989 to record a call in progress into the user's box. I then want to export that message to some audio format (like .WAV). It sounds like Unified Messaging will do this. I'm not trying to record all calls, and I'm only going to be doing this workaround for a few calls, so it should work fine.

Don't think you can export the recording unless you have unified messaging. If anyone knows the way around this I would be interested!
Obvious tip program the F989 onto a feature button on the set - you just need to remember to press it (dah!).
Have been told categorically there is no way of stopping the "this call is being recorded" statement, can press it during ring tone tho) but ensure your not breaking the offtel regs.

The message can be stopped if you contact Nortel. They will remove it providing you put in writing that you will comply to ofcom regualtions.
