Problem:

I’m having an issue with a Partner R7 system I just installed. With the main processor I have installed 3) 308’s and one new Messaging system. Here’s my issue the voice mail light on extension 10 is staying lit up, showing there is a message in the box, even after all have been deleted.

What I’ve tried:
I have completely deleted the voice mail box, checked to make sure it was inactive and completely erased, then re-added the box. After re-adding the box, I set up the voice mail sent a message and deleted it. The light was still on and stayed on through out the whole process, even when the box was gone I think – not sure about that though. I also checked the other phone boxes to see if one had been directed to extension 10 as a phantom, didn’t find any.

What I need to know:

How do I fix it, I think I have see this before, and thought there is a way to turn the light on and off – maybe some where I turned the light on and now it’s stuck on.

Thanks for all the help,

John

If you have a Partner Messaging check the attendants ext 9991 which defaults to 10 but you must check both, it can be programmed to just leave mail in 10, check your Dial 0/time out

Allisland nailed it. Check that extension.

If it ain't broke, I haven't fixed it yet.

and if the messages are in the 9991 mailbox then change the dial0/timeout to not leave messages in the general mailbox but in the mailbox for 10 instead then you only have to check one mailbox (remember to change day AND night if you switch between them)

If you can't be good, be good at it!

I too feel Allisland is most likely correct. I can’t remember what I did but I do remember fussing with the time out and the Dial 0 time out. I have a feeling I might have programmed the time or moved the location of the dial time out box to 0 or 10. What ever the case you’ve given me something to check when I go back on Wednesday.

BTW had no idea there was even a 9991 mail box – lol

Also thanks for the heads up on how to clear the mail box light as well.

So thanks again for the help, I let everyone know how it goes.
