I did a serch that came up with nothing to awnser my question. When i try to transfer a call to any extenstion, it rings for the right number of rings, but then insted of going to voice mail like i would like it to it kick it back to my phone. how do i fix this?

Take a look under system programming -- feature settings and see if the transfer callback is set too low. When I am using a VM I useually set it for 6 or 12.

Yeah, I have been looking in there. I dont want it to call me back at all, I want to transfer it and i want it to go to their voice mail if they dont pick it up after 5 or 6 rings. but as of now its transfering back to me. Do you know what I meen?

Well if the transfer callback timer is set for 6 or 12 then make sure that the forwarding no answer timers for each station is set for less that that ie. 3, 4, or 6. since you cannot turn of the transfer callback timer all you can do is set it high enough so other timers take effect first.

Makes sense! Now is are those settings under Config > Gen Admin > Capabil > Set abilities? Im looking and all i see are .. "foward on no anwser"

Where is transfer callback timer? is that ATA Awnser timer?

Thanks !!

look under terminals&sets-->capabilities-->fwd no answer.
there is a forward on busy in the same area but remember that if you set the forward on busy then anything that rings the set will be sent to vm while that set is on line. this is critical for small systems where the outside lines ring on several phones that also have their own vm.
