Since having the Enterprise/OPS Manager software installed for management of our Mitel controllers, I have been able to use the MAC editor to add/change/delete users but have been unable to configure voice mail through same. After doing some research on the net it appears that when Mitel installed and configured the software, they did not enable this option in the Network Elements editor. Which of the following option should the elements be set to? With or Without Networked Voice Mail Support? All of the controllers are currently set to none hence the inability of configuring voice mail through OPS Manager at the moment. We are using the embedded voice mail on all controllers and do not have any type of voice mail resiliency in place.

Not sure if the "With" option is for something like NuPoint? I would assume so but don't want to assume anything - we all know where that lands us.

I played around with both of these options and I can now configure voice mail through the MAC screen but users that were already setup with voice mail show up as not having the voice mail option checked - when I change it in the network element editor (as it should have been set initially), will OPS Manager eventually see this and bring that data in having the voice mail option checked and all pertinent data populating the fields?

I apologize for all the questions and greatly appreciate any assistance/insight anyone would be able to provide.

Hope this all makes sense.

Networked voicemail is a purchasable option for embedded VM. If you received a message and would like to forward it another user who is not local to your controller then you need to have this option. OPS manager will maintain a list of all voicemail boxes across your network and propagate it to all your controllers, so the system will know where to send messages. It works similar to forwarding your messages to email with can be enabled with "advanced voicemail" option. Messages are being forwarded as email using SMTP protocol.

If you don't have this option, you need to configure network elements "Without Networked VM".

Since you configured Voicemail on the controller, OPS manager doesn't have any information about it in its database. If you didn't change default policy, you can just check VM box for your existing users and click save. OPS manager will find existing VM box on the controller and issue a warning about it. Select "Don't overwrite" and continue. So when you touch users just keep checking voicemail option. Over time you will get it completed. Absence of this option will not prevent users from using embedded voicemail system.

Thanks so much for your help! Greatly appreciated! Exactly the info I was looking for.
