Does anybody know of a way to use a programmed "voice mail" button to send calls to another users voice mailbox.
Here is the scenario. NEC 48 phone system got "knocked out" by power surge or lightning? We are not the origional company that installed the system and have no documentation of system. Their rule 1: All calls are screened Their rule 2: Do not transfer calls to their extension if they are not there at desk or cannot take call. Their rule 3: Use the "voice mail" button to send calls to their mailbox.
The way I use the "voice mail" button is that, when they press the "voice mail" button, it should ask for their password. But they say, they hear the main greeting, then they press a mailbox number and hang up so the caller then hears the person they are calling, voice mail greeting. Is there a "feature" that can do that? The system is a Elite 48 with a VMS 4 voice mail system. They also say that when they push the "voice mail" button to check messages they want to hear " please enter your password" As far as I know they cannot have it both ways... Any ideas???
Thanks
