I have one, and only one, user that can't use their voice mail button. On every user's phone there is a Voice Mail button we placed on their screen using button programming. When you press it you hear your name, and how many voicemails came in and whatnot.

On this one user she gets the voicemail prompt as if she's using vm for the first time. It asks for her extension and password. I copy and pasted my line in the system manager onto her button programming....nothing changed. I switched phones and still nothing changed. All her settings look just like everyone else's.
What could I be missing?

Starting with the obvious, did she actually set up her voicemail?

Is there a space after name? I have seen that cause the bahavior you describe.

She set up her voicemail, and just goes through the prompts to retrieve it. She was moved from one location to another 6 months ago which is when this started. But she's still connected to the same Avaya switch. There are no spaces in her name either.

Did her extension number change?

Delete and recreate the user, or rename her user name slightly (not the one displayed on the handset) so it's a fresh mailbox :)

ShortCode *17 on the user shortcodes?
Vxxx wrong or gone on the user?
User Rights?

The user has no short codes from what I can tell. Their rights are the same as the other users. What is "Vxxx wrong" mean?

You're a genius! Her source number was vxxx. I changed it to a capital V and now it all works!!!! THANKS!!!!

Thanks for the Pink...:)
