I have a mail box for a staff member that does not have a phone (remote user) When the building secretary tries to Direct Voice mail transfer to that mail box it does not work. Why? What do I need to do to make it work? I have tried the Phantom Mail box option to a couple different extensions. The mail box extension number is 1801, is that my problem? Please help.

You need to renumber an adjunct to 1801, and put it in the voicemail coverage group.

When you are on an extension, you must have a "target" to transfer the call to, and have that target cover to the mailbox, and also to be able to use "Direct to Voicemail", the extension number must be in the VM coverage group.

When calls come from the Auto Attendant, the voicemail already knows there is not a physical extension, so it doesn't bother to try and transfer out, it just goes to the mailbox.

How do I find out what the VM coverage is? Could it be 770? That is the extension they dial to get to VM.

Look in Group Coverage, your exts are probably in group cover 30 or 1(this is normally what I use). Do an inspect to see which cover group they are in now and then add the new ext number to that group.

Extentions, more, Group Coverage, try 30 or 1, enter, put in the ext number you want, enter
