Voice Mail(AD8) Amy Ronk security reset. 2

Hi,

Can anybody help me on how to reset on the default PIN code of AMY RONK(default system manager)? someone put a security code on Amy Ronk's extesion number 632 so I can't open the system manager menu of the voicemail system. Please help.

If you are lucky, the installer made someone else a system manager as well. Usually it would be the person in charge of the openning greetings. The easiest way to tell is to get a list of all users and security codes. Then using your cosession program, see if one of them lets you in. At that point you can manipulate the mail box for Amy Ronk. If this fails, do a file transfer of the AVENT.AVD file to your laptop and send to NEC as well as a company letter head with the request faxed. I think it costs about $150.00 plus your labor.

is there anyway i can reset the whole system to its default? how do i proceed? i dont think the person who previously installed this made another person a system manager...thanks for the input fixin....

Have you noticed that 632 stands for NEC. There is a programme that enables you to hack the password on an AD8. I only recently acquired it and it is something I wouldn't release willy nilly so you need to contact NEC to get hold of your missing password. If they say they can't crack it tell them to get in touch with the GRC (in Australia) and if they can't do the job I know of the odd Perth tech who can. but it will have to be done officially.

Unfortunately my hands are tied on that one. Perhaps it will give you a clue if I say the only source of this programme is NEC.

If I say I have the programme and say the only place YOU can get the programme is NEC it should tell you why I can't give it away!

Ok thank you very much again for your help. BTW do you think this could help:

Set DIP 4 to on.
1.Boot the mail and wait about 1 minute.
2.Access the mail via cossession & you should see a DOS menu. If you only see the C:\vmail type in "diskutil"
3.Go to menu 4e-archive
4.Go to submenu 4. De-archive default database and follow the prompts. After this has finished go to submenu 2: De-archive system files amd follow the prompts.
5.When this is done exit back to DOS menu.
6.Set DIP switches to off and restart the mail. Look at the bootup for any errors.

When the mail comes back with the banner screen press F2 and login with the default admin password.

Does it clear all the database or just the password/security code of the system manager?

That sounds as though you will default the whole system. I was previously told there was no way to find the password and then they came up with this programme. Consequently I have never tried any other way of defeating the password protection. I can tell you that the password is stored in the avent.avd file
