Voice fade on Handsfree 1

I have 2 BCM 200's both work fine on calls from the handset but when on handsfree the called party's voice fades when the caller speaks, but comes back up when they stop talking, is this design intent or do I need to check anything in the config.

The phones are not full duplex so when the person speaks into the mic it will cut the far end off.
