Hi,
Have been requested to go look at a Voice Bridge on an Octel 200/300, but can't find anything on it.
Anyone able to enlighten me to what it is and used for?
thanks,
Hudson22
Yes, it could affect MWI since the VB is the integration "intelligence" between the switch and the Octel, both incoming CPI and MWI commands back to the switch.
Can these Voicebridge cards be replaced while the system is running? I believe there are two of them. Or do they need to be busied out first or ????
thanks in advance and for the previous.

I have only used the Voicebridge series II model which was a self contained module interfacing with Octel 250/350's. I know they come in the ISA version as well. I assume you would have to shutdown the PC that contains the Voicebridge cards to replace them. I have never had an instance to use the Voicebridge on an Octel 200/300. What kind of switch is this?
Your AVAYA Definity has (maybe) been running on DTMF (Touch Tones) integration before, and now you want to have a serial or LAN integration between your PBX (i.e. the AVAYA Definity and your VM system - the OCTEL 200/300?
The DTMF so as the Voice Bridge (SMDI) - integrations delivers the caller ID from a digital PBX and it also sets (ON/OFF) the Messag Waiting Lamps. The only differnce to most PBX is that that the SMDI is faster.
To my knowledge the AVAYA Definity can use both types - DTMF and SMDI.
