Vodavi SP1428 pc administration 1

I have a Vodavi SP 1428 to install. I have initialized and was able to access admin via station 100(password **3226).

Would like to program via the serial interface. I made the cable and configured communications as per manual specs. I can get SMDR output and password request/system info to display (System responds to carriage return). This would indicate to me that communications between the pc and 1428 are good.

I have tried various combinations of password. Per the manual, "Vodavi" should do the trick, but it does not. Have tried entering the **3226 (which works on the phone) in various combos with and without the * or ** 3226.

Any help would be appreciated.

I mercifully tossed all my Vodavi SPX and SP manuals at the last decimation of old manuals. However, from the electronic copy, if you study the key translations, you press the equivalents of ON **3226 Which is M**3226.

Let me tell you in advance. No matter how "intuitive" keyboard programming is, you'll soon abandon it for keyset programming. It's pretty cumbersome.
