VNI-4009 : Cannot contact agent on the node 1

A new server is setup to replace existing old server. I can ping and connect to the server. Agent is up and running. When I try to discover the node, I get VNI-4009 error. The DB link is not active too.

tnsnames.ora entries are updated.

What am I missing ?

agentctl status agent showed the agent is running..

 
Can you ping/connect it from your "master" database box? I mean, isn't it a network issue (routing, firewalls etc)? How many network interfaces are installed on that server?

What os is the server ? the os the agent is running on

Problem solved. Initially the DNS setup for the new box was not done correctly. I can only ping from 1 direction. With that resolved. I can ping from both direction.

Next is to shutdown and restart Oracle and I'm back in business. Thanks!
