VNC with D-Link router

Hi. I guess you can say that I'm a newbie at this. My VNC worked fine till I networked another machine with a D-Link router. Now, my VNC won't work from remote locations, only on the other computer thats on the network. Is there a way to change something in the router config to fix this problem.

If your D-link router has an integrated firewall you have to open the port for vnc.

Go to the admin page for the d-link router and in the virtual server tab you can specify the public port,private port (specify the same port on public and private)and the ip of the machine to which you will be connecting using vnc.
