VNC Help

I have VNC on W2K Pro; DSL (MSN is provider) connects through USB; no router/firewall.
When I try to connect I get the following message: "Failed to connect to server."
I am running WinVNC (AppMode) on the PC I'm trying to connect to and VNCViewer on the PC I'm trying to connect from.
Any help will be greatly appreciated...Thanks!
