Has anyone used VNC on Windows 2000? Is it better than PC Anywhere, what is your experience??

Thanks!!

It depends on what you are using it for. We use it for doing demos of our software to potential customers. All the potential customer needs is a Java enabled web browser to view our computer's desktop. As far as remote administration, I would stick with PC Anywhere or Terminal Services. A few reasons such as there are no File transfer capabilities in VNC. You will have to use something like ftp if you need to transfer files. Also the performance of PCAW or Terminal Servies is far greater than vnc. VNC doesn't hook into windows the same way PCAW or Terminal Servieces does. It actually takes screen shots based on user and program events. The end result can be high cpu usage on the host computer. But then again VNC is Free!
I'd say try them all out, and make your own judgment. You can try them all for free, though terminal services will require 2000 server.

Hope this helps!
Dan
