will this work on a ws5a also ? and what are the registry setting for VNC on the WS5 that needs to be changed ?

thanks

Hi.

Read the DAT file. It stops the OPS, transfers file, installs & sets the registry then reboots.
Read the Readme. It tells you where to put the files. If there is none:

1. Copy WS5VNC folder to the \Micros\RES\CAL\WS5a\Packages directory on the server.

Thanks DrZogg I did read the .DAT file and put the files in the correct location and can start the connection but only get a blank screen with a message that say:
PLEASE WAIT - INITIAL SCREEN LOADING

and since you mentioned in your previous post that: "you will need to change the registry setting for VNC on the WS5" - but now reading the post again it seems that you were refering to the screen saver :) my bad

so I'm assuming this should work with ws5a also and the connection issue is only due to a bad LAN, correct?

thanks again

ok thanks then I'll try on a different LAN. This one is very restricted and it maybe be the cause.

Hallo DrZogg, unfortunately I still get the same error message on a ws5a in an open lan.

Are there some registry editing that needs to be done on the ws5a or anything also that I'm missing?

thanks

No, thats news to me. Havent seen that before at all. Will see what I can find out.

Thanks DrZogg if it may help the connection seems to be working as the mouse icon on the ws5a moves and pressing the right mouse button the context menu appears but the screen image never shows on the client vnc
