As I said in my thread about AVG I am just starting to use Linux. I have a Fedora 6 System that I have installed Real VNC on.

I have configured vnc to accept connections through prot 5928. However when I attempt to connect to the the Fedora box I get the following error

Failed to connect: Connection refused (10061)

In the Server box to connect to when I first open VNC Viewer I enter 192.168.254.28:5928

What am I doing wrong?

you have top specify the esktop number

example:

192.168.254.18:5928:1

The desktop number allows multiple users in linux to invoke VNCserver and therefore mulltiple remote commections.

If you login locally as a different user and start vncserver again you will be assigned another desktop.

from a remote station you will then be able to access each user's desktop simply by changing the desktop number and access credentials.

If I could have sex each time I reboot my server, I would definitely prefer Windoz over Linux!
