Hi folks !
Does anybody with newer Installation & Maintenance doc
have the possibility to look up this error code
in the hardware error table , and post it.
The type error is not listed in mine ...

Code:
TYPE SLOT CHNL PRIO DATE TIME #BAD DATA1 DATA2 DATA3 DATA4
 69 05 00 3 05/03 08:10 1 0000003F 00000011 00000000 0000000A

Reason i won't ignore it is that the buildt in modem
seems to have went of of function .
So i'd really like to know the explanation of this error.

Regards syar

Error code 69 is a VCU port controller status error.
The data1 field gives the logical port with error status

The data3 field indicates that it is a parity error.

The description for data2 doesn't make much sense......the bottom line is that it's a priority 3 error -- not too serious. Clear it, and keep an eye on it to see if it reccurs with any frequency, if so your VCU *may* be giving subtle signs of impending failure.
FWIW, the hardware error descriptions are relatively accurate from waaay back, so an old manual will still give you a pretty good idea of what an error is.
Good luck,

Dave Strang

If the build-in modem does not respond, when calling to the voice mail hunt group and you enter ###5, there are two main reasons for this.
The command : @MODEM ENABLE should be entered.
The V250i needs a restart. @ RESTA

Thanks both .
The modem is enabled (and has been operative for 8 years)
Just suddenly stopped working one day ,without any user invension.
And system has also been restarted .

Will try @MODEM DIS followed by a @MODEM ENABLE
just in case it magically starts working again .

From what i know alarm 3 isn't to be ignored.
1 is lowest priority and 3 is highest .
So i will follow up on the type 69 alarm .

Thks

I have investigated this problem at little more.
SLOT=A5 in a Voice 250i is the VCU.
Of course this board can be defective.
BUT with the s/w release L.7.1.5 for Voice 200/300, I
saw the same fault (just with a different fault code) where the VMX/OCTEL pointed out the VCU to be defcetive.
The VCU was swapped, but the alarm did not disappear.
LME told me to do a @DEX 1 to scan for defective parts of the HDD.
We found that the HDD was defective and it was swapped.
hereafter there was no problem.
