VMWare with win98 guest does not give 32 bit color

Hi,

I'm using VMWare server on a linux server machine, which hosts a windows 98 client system; I use vmware server console to connect to this from my desktop winXP system.

I have installed VMware Tools in the win98 system, but it limits my screen to 1280x1024x16 bit; I would like to have it at 1024x768x32 bit.

Does anyone has a suggestion why I cannot select 32 bit color?
