I have installed vmware on my pc, both to control a ESx server, and to have local VM.

I do get problems with my local network after the installation. I have comfirmed that it is vmware, cause everything works fine when I uninstall vmware.

The network problems are :
- unable to access network shares with dns names, have to use ipaddress.
- network disks can not connect (probably for the reason above)
- filetransferes are slow

Have anyone had the same problem ? Any solution ?

Try disabling the VMnet1 and VMnet8 adaptors in your network connection properties. See if that helps.

You probably ran some kind DHCP and DNS service on your virtual machine. Don't know how to help you, hope you have solved this in two month..
