Hi all,
I want to implement a remote mirroring solution for my ESX environment.
Actually I've an ESX server connected to a storage cabinet by FC-AL and I do a SAN extension with 2 pairs fibre connection monomode and a new storage cabinet located on a different building.
Reading documentation I've seen that with Symantec Storage Foundation I would create a remote mirror but my questions are:
Does SF work for ESX ? Do I need Linux version because ESX is based on "Linux" ?
Do you recommend another software for this purpose ?
What about consistency of VMs and data ?
NOTE: The storage cabinets don't have hardware remote replication options
Thank you for your support.

I think this solution will not work. ESX is [!]heavily modified[/!] Linux and installing linux software will probably do Very Bad Things[sup]TM[/sup]...

Best to look for only ESX-compatible hw and sw...
