Hi Guys, I was hoping someone could help me as in all my years of experience in VMWare I have never seen this happen before ... until yesterday/today.

We were in the process of deleting/commiting snapshots when one VM, whilst saying it had a snapshot in Snapshot Manager, didn't have the option to revert or delete. The correct files all existed on the datastore for the snap by the looks.

We were going to log a call with VMWare, however, this morning said VM required a reboot. After reboot, all signs of the snapshot have disappeared and the VM is functioning correctly.

sounds like an orphaned snapshot imo. I'm assuming you looked at the datastore files via the vcenter manager gui? you probably wont see any .delta files (snapshots) at that level. By rebooting the VM you may have inadvertently lost any data that was in the orphaned snapshot. If you see anything like that happen again the best thing to do is to search for any .delta files in the directory where the VM is hosted that have a current timestamp. The only way I know of to commit an orphaned snapshot is to V2V the VM.
