i have 2 rs6k boxes - one MCA & one PCI

i can't run "vmstat" on MCA box, but i can in PCI - they're both running AIX 4.3.3.

'checked on /usr/bin for PCI - i have it but not in MCA. is there a particular fileset i am missing in my MCA system?

thanks in advance.

Oops, johny, I started a new thread rather than answered yours.

the fileset that contains vmstat is boss.acct. Use lslpp -f | grep vmstat to see this.

bi,

I successfully installed bos.acct and works great! thanks.

i am just wonderin if you do have a complete list of the default filesets during AIX OS installation? basically, i want to know what happened during OS installation for both MCA/PCI machines - they should have the same filesets.

thanks again...

Johny,

Sorry it took me so long to reply. Something happened to our internet link.

Try going to select the 4.3 manuals/Installation Guides/Packaging Guide for LPP Installation. It's a little cumbersome, but it lists generally what is installed. I don't know of a simple list that says this is what is installed.

The AIX installation loads what is required when you first install based on your devices. I always go back and add filesets.

I could give you a list of filesets I have on a system here, but an lslpp of the system is more than 600 lines. Do you want me to email it to you?
