vmstat not working

I could not get anyoutput with the folowing command
vmstat

It gives

"read There is a request to a device or address that does not exits

Can anybody help me in this matter?

I have run into this problem before, and the only way I got around it was a reboot.

reboot does not work.
sar command is not working too.


i was trying to keep one export dump file in that disk but i could not. i had to do it in other disk. I will give you the output of your command in my next reply.
Can you pls give me any good oracle forum

What user are you running vmstat /sar from?

Make sure you have your path & permission set to allow you to run the commands.

If your su-ing try su - root
