I have some IT folks I would like to give perms to so they can unlock MM mailboxes or reset a password. Using MM5.2 w/Exchange. So, I can do this from Active Directory but they do not have access nor will they be given access to that. Is there a way to give them the ability to perform these functions only through Subscriber Administrator? If so, how and where do they login to do it? What do I need to give them access to? I have picked one to test with and added him to the Members list under Security Roles/Subscriber Administrator...next step(s)?

Add their name to the Subscriber Administrator section of the VMSC and they can use their network login to the MAS.

I have already added their name there. So when the log into the MAS, what will they do to get to the user's account?

I go through configure and get to Active Directory...is this what they will see? How will they be limited to not doing anything else?

Are they also on the Remote Users list? My Computer, Properties, Remote tab, press "Select Remote Users" to add your Server\username there too.

On the VMSC, under Subscriber Administration, Tasks tab you have access to the tasks that are allowed.

For simple password reset and unlock mailboxes don't add to Subscriber Administration but rather to the Subscriber Helpdesk function in the VMSC.

Hope this helps.

Ok - I have changed it so this person is now under the Subscriber Helpdesk function which makes more sense! But, where are you referring to the Remote Users list?

On the MAS desktop, go to My Computer or MAS#, right-click then go to Properties, click the Remote tab and go to the bottom to click the "Select Remote Users" button

Thanks. So, if I do this, the user will have the ability to shutdownt the server, correct?
