I am using voice mail R4.1. I have assigned ownership to the line in question and used the group call distribution feature(#206). I have verified that the line has ownership and it is at the desired extension. When I try to call that # Auto Attendent picks up, NOT the vioce mail for the desired extension. Any ideas? Thank you

Program #206 assigns incoming lines to ring into the voicemail hunt group.

Program #208 assigns ownership of lines to a specific extension. Lines not assigned under #208 are grouped into general ownership by the automated attendant(s).

Program #206 and #208 are mutually exclusive. If both are selected, the winner will be #206 every time.

To assign line ownership, remove from #206, add to #208, go into the voicemail administration box and add line 8xx to extension xx under line ownership (option 6 on most systems).

Ace7921,
When you assign that line to In #206 1=assigned 2=not assigned 3=VMS line Cover. 3 is what you want that line status to Be

Don

True, you can do it that way, but it is less flexible.

Using #206-3 the call will forward to the mailbox dependant upon the settings for the automated attendant: night mode programming, delayed (2 rings) vs. immediate, etc.

When administered under #208, it follows the timer for the owner's extension under #117 VMS cover rings (1-9 rings) AND will forward immediately to vmail if that extension is placed in DND.

Again, just depends upon the needs of the installation and operating requirements.
